About LNCA PTA

The mission of the Lake Nokomis Community School Parent Teacher Association (LNCSPTA) is to provide enriched learning opportunities for the students of Wenonah and Keewaydin Community Schools including field trips, other learning opportunities and classroom supplies. Our primary function is to provide fundraising for these opportunities.

LNCS PTA is run entirely by volunteers. There are no paid staff.

We also host community events, provide parents opportunities to interact with administration and staff from the schools and aim to be a part of the Lake Nokomis area community.

Our Philosophy

We celebrate our neighborhood school culture and like to be known as a big city school with a small town heart.

Our History

The Wenonah neighborhood is named after Hiawatha's mother, the daughter of Nokomis, from a legend that Henry Wadsworth Longfellow attributes to Ojibwe people in his poem, The Song of Hiawatha.
